SOLOMON Islanders are urged to promote local products at the market.
This was highlighted by a local Ginger farmer, Felix Laumae after visiting Solomon Star Auki with his first samples of ginger powder products, mid this week.
Mr Laumae started engaging in Ginger farming in 2019 and is now venturing into small scale processing of Ginger powder products at his home village of Rufoki, west Fataleka.
He said Solomon Islanders should buy more locally made products at market rather than promoting foreign made goods.
The farmer added that citizens must be reminded of the value and pride of having locally owned and made products at the market.
“Solomon Islanders should take full cost of promoting local products rather than imported products.
“This means that we must be proud of our own products rather than promoting foreign made products.”
“By doing that it will help local producers to continue and expand the local market domestically and even internationally,” Mr Laumae said
Mr Laumae is currently promoting his products at places he visited, especially around Malaita.
