A CONCERNED nurse is calling on the national government through the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to quickly pay nurses COVID-19 allowances.
According to the nurse, who refused to be named, the government promised allowances for nurses and doctors who worked during the outbreak of COVID-19 community transmission.
However, the nurse said that promise is still to be fulfilled by the national government.
“We have a lot of commitment and with schools about to start this month we will also need these extra funds which we worked for to pay school fees for our children,” the concerned nurse said.
He said the national government had already passed the 2022 Budget therefore; it should prioritise allowances for frontliners.
He said frontliners are risking their lives in the fight against COVID-19 therefore, the national government must prioritise the frontliners by facilitating their allowances quickly.
