THE Member of Parliament for Aoke/Langalanga and the Malaita Provincial Government have been called on to improve the deteriorating state of the roads in provincial capital Auki.
Drivers and vehicle owners are again calling on these responsible authorities to quickly improve the state of the roads, which they said lowered the image of the provincial capital
“Auki is considered to be the second biggest town in the country after Honiara; however its image is totally ruined with its bad and deteriorating road state,” one driver told the Solomon Star.
“Why has this road not been upgraded or mended for years, since after the Festival of Arts two years ago?
“Auki is not what it is used to be or should be like, as the deteriorating state of the roads in the heart of the town is very much distorting its image,” another driver said.
They meanwhile called upon Aoke/Langalanga MP, Mathew Wale and the Edwin Suibaea led Provincial Government to help mend the roads sooner rather than later.
