The Isabel house of chief appeals to all Isabel people to maintain their culture and traditional custom values.
The call was made for the second time for this year by the Isabel deputy paramount chief Ambrose H. Bugotu during the celebration of the Isabel second appointed day in Honiara yesterday.
He first made the call on Easter this year during the Isabel council of chiefs (ICC) meeting in Jejevo, Isabel.
“We must uphold, and regularly revisit and value our traditional customs and culture. Those are the basis of our togetherness harmoniously.
“That the church has to work alongside these areas, to let us know who we are, our immediate families, our relatives, and our people from Isabel.”
Meanwhile, a member of the provincial assembly honourable Nelson Kile reiterated the same sentiment.
“I urged you all to hold fast to the good side of our culture, and advance our dreams and aspiration using the appropriate wisdom, technology, and knowledge of this decade”.
The celebration in Honiara concludes today.
In Buala, Isabel’s headquarter the celebration will run throughout the whole of this week.
