A HOST of intending candidates to contest next month’s National General Elections are set to launch their election campaigns this week.
According to reports reaching this paper, both Independent candidates and those affiliated with various political parties will likely launch their election campaigns in Honiara this week.
This was following the opening of nominations last week whereby already a good number of both former and intending candidates have made their intensions of contesting the coming elections known.
Reports have also claimed that during various election campaigns, not only members but prominent national figures are likely to be invited as a means of luring in support from the general public.
Over the past few months, a good number of intending candidates have already been heavily involved in giving awareness throughout communities in Honiara and in the provinces, however were still waiting to launch their campaigns.
Meanwhile the national general election has been scheduled for 19 November 2014.
