Catholic Mothers within the Archdiocese of Honiara and elsewhere in the Gizo and Auki Dioceses fell on their knees in honor of the Assumption of Mary.
The feast of the Assumption of Mary is remembrance of Mary the mother Jesus who went up to Heaven. This feast falls on August 15th every year according to Catholic Calendar.
Catholic Mothers and every Catholic believer knows very well that they only worship God, but give honor to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Catholic Communication Solomons understands that all parishes within the Archdiocese of Honiara and others celebrated this great feast within their own parishes.
The assembly of all Catholic mothers will take place at Tamboko St. Mary’s Tanagai parish next year 2018.
Holy Cross parish Catholic Mothers celebrated this feast of the Assumption of Mary at Valeato local church Holy Cross parish.
Apart from Holy Cross parish Catholic Mothers, we learnt that Good Shepherd, Tangarare, and Kukum parishes and others celebrated the same feast day at their own time and own venues.
The theme of the celebration this year is “Care, Protection and Evangelization of Children.”
The theme itself was chosen by the Catholic Bishops’ conference in PNG and Solomon Islands to Care, Protect and Evangelize our children.
