Constituency Development Officers (CDO) have encouraged to carry out their mandated duties.
Permanent secretary to the Ministry of Rural Development Selina Boso made the statement during the CDO’s annual review on MOnday at the Mendana Hotel.
The CDOs are currently here in Honiara for the two days review.
“I encouraged your commitment to ensure your annual work plan reflects the ministry.”
Ms Boso urged the CDOs to develop their 2017 constituency proposals.
“2017 constituency development proposals should be done now so that when you have the budget at hand, you can only implement your plans.
“Work on what we have now, so that by next year, we already have what to do for that financial year.”
She added that the CDOs and their project development officers (CPO) need to learn from each other and work closely with the ministry to improve their skills and capacity to develop their constituencies.
The officers meet two times every year to review their progress in their work in their constituencies.
