The Salesian Day of formation, fellowship, prayer, enjoyment and relaxation among the various members of the Salesian family: SDB’s, FMA’s, Cooperators, Caritas Sisters, Association of MHC, Association of Past Pupils was held on 6th July, at Boroko, Port Moresby.
About 60 persons from the various groups were registered for the celebrations and got to know each other through icebreakers organized by Ms. Dianne Lavi. Br Raymond Callo then led the group through a session that gave all a deeper insight in knowing Don Bosco.
The session highlighted: Formation, Mission and Membership. It gave the participants an opportunity to share their experiences of the past and look forward to celebrate the 200th birth centenary of Don Bosco personally and with possibilities to share this experience with others.
The Thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr. Peter Baquero. It was an occasion to thank God and one another for the charism of Don Bosco manifest through the different apostolates of the Salesian Family. Lunch was a contribution from the different members of the Salesian Family. This was followed by fun games and a variety of lively and inspiring items from the different groups.
Nurtured and strengthened we return to grow and develop our Salesian attitude and charism as we work for the young entrusted to our care enjoying our ‘Don Bosco’ way of life.
