Kola Ridge Cemetery the only available cemetery in Honiara city is running out of space for new burials.
Reports reaching this paper claimed that the cemetery is running out of space which makes it difficult to find space for new burials.
The report claimed that when looking for space at cemetery, some peopleactually dig out old graves that were buried without it noticing from the surface.
The report stated that the cemetery is clearly out of space and needs to be relocated to a place with more space to accommodate more decease.
As the City is expanding which gives rise to the number of people living in Honiara to reach a new level high, a new location for a new cemetery is a must as all living humans are subjected to death one day where they also need space to be buried.
Responsible authority should consider relocating the cemetery to much empty space as the current cemetery is fully occupied and cannot accommodate anymore new burials.
An attempt to get comments from the Honiara City Council (HCC) on the matter yesterday was unsuccessful.
