The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) recently welcomed acclaimed musical composer Igelese Ete to the country.
Mr Ete, who directed an inspirational choral performance for the Chamber’s Inaugural Business Excellence Awards in March last year (2013), is most famous for being the choirmaster for the music for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films.
Mr Ete gave a motivational lecture to staff and guests of SICCI Friday last week.
He spoke to SICCI staff about the importance of aiming high, working diligently and pursuing their dreams and aspirations.
A Samoan by background Mr Igelese has composed music in various countries across the Pacific.
He currently serves as the Head of Performing Arts at the University of South Pacific (USP) in Suva as well as acting as CEO AriaTea Productions LTD.

Mr Ete was in Honiara to prepare for the first annual Solomon Islands school’s choral festival which will see student’s and school’s from around the Solomon Islands come together to perform at a gala event from July 7th to July 10th.
