A chief from East Kwara’ae Abraham Misitana reminds police officers ot lead by example in keeping the laws even outside of duty.
Mr Misitana made teh statement following an encounter he said did not speak well of a police officer.
“There were some police officers who were onboard a public bus going down to the Doma area that were drunk and mishaving,” he said.
He said the public is looking at police officers even outside of their duties and law keepers therefore they should be role models.
“How do you expect people to respect you and the law if you yourself fail to keep it?”
He said the credibility of an officer depends on how they behave in the public domain and to people.
“So I would like to raise this concern not to degrade anyone but as a reminder to police officers who are doing a good job in keeping our laws.”
