A Chinese company has shown keen interest to revitalise the rundown National Fisheries Development (NFD) base in Tulagi, Central province.
This came after a high level business delegation from Beijing, held talks with the Premier of Central Island province over the weekend.
The delegation also visited the factory site on Saturday after the talks with the Central island premier Stanley Manetiva.
Speaking to the Solomon Star premier Manetiva said delegation has shown interest to operate the rundown NFD factory to export fish overseas.
Mr Manetiva said his government value the company offers.
“We are glad to meet the delegation and discuss the idea and our province would consider the idea because it’s important to help our people,” Mr Manetiva said.
He said the company and provincial government have agreed on the idea.
“We would work closely with the company to see the factory up and running again.”
He said his people and the province are ready work closely with investor.
