China’s Special Envoy to the Pacific Island Forum Dialogue Ambassador H.E Wang Xuefeng is Honiara to discuss matters of importance with the various government officials.
The Solomon Star understands that this is one of the many important visits from various high level officials from China after the diplomatic relation was established between the two countries last month.
It is still unclear as to what areas will be discussed between H.E Wang and government officials.
However, the Solomon Star was informed Xuefeng will hold a press conference soon which he is likely to unveil some of the issues to be discussed.
Meanwhile, it’s understood Xuefeng told the Pacific Islands Forum early this year that China will always be a good friend, partner and brother of Pacific Island countries.
He further mentioned that climate change is a challenge and China stands ready to work with Pacific island countries to deal with climate change.
Solomon Islands is no exception and climate change might be in his list of discussion with the government officials.
