The Prime Minister, Manasseh Sogavare says the Democratic Coalition for Change Government will soon put in place a major legislation which will guide the establishment of Special Economic (SE) zones throughout Solomon Islands.
And Prime Minister Sogavare has told visiting Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Papua New Guinea, Wang Genhua Chinese investors should be interested in forming partnerships with Solomon Islanders to invest in the SE Zones.
He said the idea is to zone up the country into various economic zones so different provinces can enter into economic activities that will be feasible for their people.
But Mr Sogavare said it is a must that right kind of investments and investors are to be secured.
He said the Government will use the Triple P, (Public Private Partnership Development Concept) in the development of the Special Economic Zones.
Meanwhile, Mr Genhua told Mr Sogavare it is obvious Chinese investors are interested in investing their money in the Pacific including Solomon Islands because Chinese businesses are everywhere in Honiara.
He will report to Beijing about investment opportunities for Chinese investors in Solomon Islands.
