Construction of telecommunication towers in Choiseul Province under the Solomon Islands National Broadband Infrastructure Project (SINBIP) has commenced on January 20, 2025.
China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) in collaboration with SINBIP and Ministry of Communication and Aviation (MCA) has commenced foundation work for the project.
Under this project a total of 11 towers will be installed around Choiseul aimed at improving telecommunication connectivity in the province.
According to project updates, foundation installation is underway at the M14-Kumanibae site, while the tower structure at the M13-Lengatura site has already been completed.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
This development marks a major step, in strengthening the country’s broadband network and enhancing communication infrastructure.
CHEC’s effort reflects its commitment to supporting the Solomon Islands’ digital transformation and socio-economic growth in the country.
