THE country is now in Holy week as Christians prepare for the Easter celebration this weekend.
North West Guadalcanal Solomon Star stringer John Toki said churches all over the island of Guadalcanal are continuing to pray throughout this Holy week, as the Easter weekend is approaching.
He said many communities in the North Western region of Guadalcanal had their programs set for Easter, which attracts many young people that never attend church service to participate in combine fellowship with families and their village.
Mr Toki said while some believers have gone fasting during this Holy Week, many have organised community fellowships to strengthen the faith as believers, so that they can withstand challenges in life, particularly to overcome temptations.
On Palm Sunday Catholic Communities around Visale celebrated Palm Sunday in preparation for this weekend’s event.
