THE Diocese of Hanuato’o in Makira Ulawa Province launched their Decade of Evangelism and Renewal Program at Pamua Community College on Sunday 21st of July, 2019.
This was done with the theme “Relaunching of the Decade of Evangelism and Renewal is – Home to Home, 2017 – 2027”.
Reverend Alfred Karibongi, Bishop of the Diocese of Hanuato’o, officially launched and commissioned the participants during the Holy Eucharist service.
More than seventy clergy, parish chairman, elders, Institutions and ministerial leaders and other representatives from the 15 parishes and 118 vestries from DOH attended the program.
Prior to this relaunching was a two weeks of intensive Training workshop on topics centred around Evangelism and Renewal started on 7th July.
“Now that we have relaunched and commissioned you, the stress and the urgency of the Gospel message must now reach all our homes and families,” Karibongi said.
“The Rectors have the responsibility to ensure that your Parish Council and Parish Mission Council move this Decade and Evangelism Program along the plots that you have been thoroughly covered,” he added.
“Should there be any hiccups, advise the Diocesan Mission Office for consultation and understandings.
“You are not alone, for the flame of faith of the Gospel have been handed over to you, so why the stoppage?
“But before we move on with the program, we must first renew ourselves.
“We ourselves as messengers of the Good News must have the integrity and respect for his Church and people,” he reminded the participants.
Resource officers from the Evangelism and Renewal of at the ACOM Provincial Headquarters, Fr. Thompson Tolei and Fr. Derick Vagi also took part and witnessed the program.
Thanks giving for DOH Youth group who attended the ACOM Provincial that runs from 29th June to 7th July was also part of this relaunching and commissioning service.
