SOUTH Seas Evangelical Church (SSEC) will be hosting a five-day community health development forum next week at Kobito, east Honiara.
The forum will be opened by the church’s community health development team.
Twenty participants from the church’s Honiara and Western regions are expected to attend.
SSEC national coordinator of community health development Joash Indu said the forum will highlight issues the church needs to take note of.
“They are health development and eight components of the model of church in communities,” Mr Indu explained.
“The forum will also look into clean environment, sanitation, and water supply,” he added.
Mr Indu said they will also collect data on how many families participate to clean up their environment this week until the forum starts.
He said they encourage people living at Kobito to clean up their village and dig holes for rubbish to prevent mosquitoes and other bacterial diseases from catching children.
Mr Indu urged all members of SSEC church to continue on cleaning their environments because the health team will visit to see how effectively they cope with health issues.
