COMMUNITIES in West Kwara’ae Constituency (WKC) have received what they described as ‘timely support’ from the WKC Development Fund during the 2023 Christmas season.
The financial support was distributed by the constituency’s zone leaders to each and every church in the constituency.
The amount of support varied according to the population size of the communities the churches represent.
Big communities received between $4000 and $5000 and the smaller communities, between $1000 and $2000.
The support was provided under the WKC Development Fund allocation for churches.
This was the first project delivered under the leadership of the WKC Member of Parliament Alfred Tuasulia who took up office last year following a bye-election after the death of his predecessor Sam Iduri’i.
A man from Buiano village in Ward 3 of WKC told Solomon Star that his community received $2000 dollars earlier this week.
He said it was the first time for the community to receive such support under the WKC Development Fund.
The Buiano villager thanked the WKC Office and MP Tuasulia for the ‘timely support’, adding that this support is a recognition of the important role the churches play in the constituency.
“The fund will help our community to improve our churches facilities such rest house as well as water and sanitation.
“This is first time for my community to receive such financial support under the West Kwara’ae Constituency Development Fund,” he added.
Meanwhile, it was report that few individuals and supporters of the MP also received Christmas gifts from the Constituency Development Fund.
