POLICE have arrested a 44-year-old male suspect in Central Islands Province for pelting cocoa fruits at a 33-year-old female victim.
Provincial Police Commander Central Islands Province superintendent David Soaki said the pair was in a cocoa plantation when the suspect argued with the victim about the burning of his house.
Mr Soaki said during the argument the suspect allegedly took the victim’s cocoa fruits and pelted them at the victim.
He said the fruits landed on the back of the victim’s head, her back and her tummy.
The incident happened on 15th July at Ope Village, Small Ngella.
The provincial superintendent said the suspect was dealt with and released on bail to appear in the next court circuit scheduled for September 19th in Tulagi.
“I appeal to my good people in Central Province to be good law abiding citizens.
“Do not try to take law into your own hands.
“Seek help in the community to solve such problems.
“Our community leaders are there to assist us,” Mr Soaki said.
