Australian High Commissioner Andrew Byrne has announced that week two of the “G’Day Solomon Islands Film Festival” will feature one of Australia’s most popular movies, “Babe.”
“Babe is a wonderful movie about a pig on an Australian farm, who wants to be a sheepdog!” said Mr Byrne.
“Babe is one of Australia’s most successful films. Families loved it, critics loved it and it was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay, winning the award for Best Visual Effects.
“Babe will win the hearts of young and old. It’s a very special movie for anyone who has dreamed of doing something big.
“Our sponsors Westpac and Szeba will be supplying free popcorn and water for those who attend to add to the cinema experience.
“Bring along the pikinini and enjoy!” said Mr Byrne.
The Australian High Commission is looking to build on the success of the opening night of the Film Festival last Friday, when about 500 people were treated to a screening of the classic Australian film, “Crocodile Dundee.”
The screening of “Babe” will commence at 6:30pm on Friday night at the Honiara Art Gallery Grounds.
It’s important to arrive early to secure a good seat. Gates will be open from 5.30pm.
Bring the whole family and a mat or chair to sit on.
