BALLOT counting for Western Province constituencies will start on Thursday.
That’s according to the province’s election manager Gideon Tuke.
“For the first time in history, counting for all constituencies in the province will be held at the provincial capital, Gizo,” Tuke said.
He said results will be also declared by the presiding officer(s) as and when counting is done with each constituency.
Tuke said due to security reasons, counting will be held at a central location inside the provincial government building complex adjacent to the Gizo Police Station.
Polling stations will open 7am today and closes at 5pm.
Western Province has nine constituencies with 142 polling stations.
A total of 332 candidates are contesting the election.
