THE court will today fix a date to hear evidences into an attempted rape case that allegedly occurred in Wagina, Choiseul Province, last year.
The 22-year-old man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the alleged victim because they are related, appeared briefly in the Honiara Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Since his lawyer was not present to confirm his availability for the date to be fixed, the matter was further adjourned to today.
Principal Magistrate Fatima Taeburi further remanded the accused in custody.
The accused is facing one count of rape in relation to an allegation on the early hours of 22 September 2014.
He allegedly raped his 15-year-old relative at her family home.
