COVID-19 positive cases in Auki, Malaita Province remain at five, says the Malaita Provincial Health Director Dr. Rex Maukera.
Speaking to Solomon Star Auki this afternoon (Tuesday 25th January) Dr. Maukera said a total of 11 COVID-19 swab tests have been carried out in Auki since the outbreak was announced of which five of the results returned positive.
He said they are still waiting for the results of the remaining six COVID-19 swab tests which were sent to Honiara over the weekend for more verification.
He said those who underwent the COVID-19 swab tests are those who came in close contact with the five COVID-19 positive persons.
In the meantime, the Malaita Provincial Health Director is calling on Malaitans especially those who live in Auki to observe the province’s COVID-19 preventive rules.
These measures are; wear facemasks, practice social distancing in public places, take up COVID-19 jabs for those who are yet to get their jabs, limit movement and wash hands with soap after visiting public places.
