Dear Editor – It’s been four (4) months since the process was carried out and finally they have a final list of names for the recruitment.
As a concern citizen of this beloved nation and as someone who would want to see corruption free in all government sectors and have been waiting eagerly to see the names, I was surprised.
It took the CSSI Commissioners too long a process, to come up with the names of new recruit officers for CSSI 2016.
Maybe the excuse was on accommodation at the barracks that there is no place, but the concern here is; why the selection process took four months or so long to complete.
Information from sources within CSSI claimed that the two (2) Deputy Commissioners and three (3) other members of the selection committee excluding the Director of training and Director of Human resource did the auditing and selection of names after the first list of names was scrutinised, due to dissatisfactions from within the organisation and some members of the public.
Now, the current recruit is a joke. Wantok business is at its best here. It is obvious those selected are relatives or those connected to those who were made to do the selection.
One of the female selectors has three of her relatives and family selected and CSSI is more like now a family organisation.
Some of those selected obviously score very low during the examination and did not even have any scores during the interview process. We know because we talk to each other and it is surprising to see them through.
Sources in CSSI claim the process was hijacked by the two bosses without the approval of the CSSI Executive.
I would like to ask the CSSI commissioner to launch an investigation into this matter and bring those concern to justice or better still, to ensure the good name of the organisation, to re-do the whole process in an independent manner.
Lastly, to Mr CSSI Commissioner, its time you get the right people for the two important Positons that is your two second captains.
We those who were unfairly disposed will keep an eye for an investigation in this matter to establish whether those selected relate or not, to those selectors. What you will find will stun you. C’mon CSSI, stop shaming this organisation.
