The Governor General, His Excellency, Sir David Vunagi has declared a curfew for Honiara City from 7pm to 6am daily effective on November 26 until revoked.
A statement from the government said the curfew is necessary for the Preservation of Public Security under the Preservation of Public Security Act as a result of the current security situation.
During the period, only authorized officers are allowed to move within the city.
The public is therefore encourage to observe the curfew. Those breaching the restrictions will be prosecuted.
