Dala North Football club (FC) is the winner of the 2023/2024 Kamros football tournament held in North West Mbaelelea in Malaita province.
The competition successfully ended on Tuesday 2nd January 2024 at the Arao sports ground.
Dala North FC was crowned the champion after defeating Fote FC 4-0 in the grand final to secure the victory.
Fote FC despite falling short to Dala North FC settled for the second place.
On the third place was the Kakara FC after being out-clashed by Dala North FC 2-0 in the semi-final.
According to a spokesperson Paul Filia, the three teams who entered the final have walked away with good prizes that featured cash and trophies.
“Dala North FC walks away with a trophy and a cash prize of $2,000, Fote FC received a trophy and a cash price of $1500 and Kakara FC received a trophy and a cash of $1000,” Filia said.
Filia continued to say that the tournament has attracted a total of 18 teams.
During the tournament they battled for the top spot but only three teams managed to get the top prize.
Filia said, the competition continued to attract huge crowds who turned up each day at Arao sport ground to witness the matches.
“It was fully packed with people from the surrounding communities and villages as they came in number to support their teams.”
A statement from the organiser said, that they were very grateful and thankful for the good behaviour of the supporters throughout the competition.
“They have shown good behavour all throughout the tournament until its completion.”
