THE Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACoM) Diocese of Malaita, Central Region have ended a three days youth convention at Dala North, near Auki on Sunday.
Youths from within the Central Region took part in the convention, with the theme “Empowering youths for a better future”.
The program commenced last Thursday until Sunday.
According to the ACoM Regional Mission Secretary, Mathias Basale, over 300 youths attended the program.
The youths came from Buma, Bio, Namonafata, and Dala respectively.
Mr Basale said the event started with an opening parade by the participating youth groups to officially open the three days program.
On Friday and Saturday, youths went through an empowering training, and the topics covered include; family governance, awareness from the Auki Correctional Services (ACC), health awareness talks, and mentoring talks from the central region youth coordinator.
The program ended with item presentations by the participating youth groups, followed by prize presentation on Sunday 27 January 2019.
Meanwhile, senior priest, Father Allan Liomauri thanked Dala North community for accommodating the program where he also thanked the participating youth groups for their effort and time.
Fr. Liomauri also thanked the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for funding the convention, and program facilitators for facilitating the program successfully.
