A series of dance competitions organised as part of the Auki road show by Origin Energy Solomon Islands (OESI) and Island Enterprises Limited (IEL) has very much hyped and attracted the Auki public.
Over the three day road show, two dance competitions have been staged with the winners all bagging home 2 burner gas stoves, bags and other lucrative products from both companies.
Men, women, students and even children took part in the public dance competition with the winners taking out some of the products put on show by the two companies.
The general feedback from the public was that such event is indeed attractively new to the people, and that people have over the past two days hyped up just to take part in the dance competition for the prices up for grabs.
“I was indeed fortunate to have won one of the two series of dance competitions,” William, who won the first series said.
“When I heard about it and seeing the prices up for grabs, I did not hesitate, putting all my mind and focus on winning the dance,” he added.
Michael Manitoali of IEL and Beaver Biti of OESI who were responsible for organising the event said that it was a successful three day event, adding that the dance competition was the icing on the cake.
“We never thought such an event would capture and attract huge crowds to us.
“However, we are indeed glad that the dance competition proved the icing on the cake for the whole show as it brought in more interested customers to compete for our products,” Manetoali said.
