Recent data shows Covid-19 cases continue to be detected in the country but at a diminishing rate.
Minister of Health and Medical Services (MHMS), Minister Dr. Culwick Togamana confirmed this in his daily Covid-19 situation update, Tuesday night.
“Our epidemiological summary of Covid-19 aggregated the testing data shows that Covid-19 cases continue to be detected in the country, but at the diminishing rate,” Dr. Togamana said.
He said this means less cases has been reported in recent days and weeks compared to the months of January and February 2022.
“For instance, in the months of January and early February, seven days rolling average of cases was approximately 200 positive cases per day.
“Compared to this month in which the rolling average cases range between 120 to 160 positive in a day,” Dr. Togamana explained.
He said similar trend is also noted for Covid-19 deaths, as number of deaths reportedly declining in March compared to February 2022.
However, he warned the public to continue maintain health safety measures such as wearing of masks and social distancing.
Most importantly he reiterated the need for vaccination.
