A YOUNG woman yesterday pleaded guilty to making a false report of sexual offence against her father to the Police in 2019.
She entered a guilty plea to one count of Making False Report when she appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Ricky Iomea.
Following her guilty plea, her matter was adjourned to tomorrow for sentencing submissions and mitigation.
The charge relates to an offence in 2019, where the accused made a false allegation of incest against her father to the Police.
A second charge of perjury against her was already withdrawn after her lawyer made a proposal to the prosecution to have it withdrawn.
The withdrawn charge relates to an offence in June this year at the High Court, where the accused was sworn in as witness in a trial conducted on her father’s matter.
At the trial, the accused told the court the report or allegation she made to Police in 2019 against her father were not true.
However, following the proposal made by her lawyer, this charge was withdrawn.
