HENDERSON Eels FC is on the verge of lifting the country’s national football league’s (TSL) trophy for the first time ever.
They will play their deciding match against Southern United FC at 2 pm tomorrow.
A win for them will give them an early confirmation as the Telekom S-league winners for the 2020/2021 season.
Currently, Eels is at the top of the table with 47 points, four points ahead of defending champions, Solomon Warriors.
Equipped with the most experienced players, the Eddie Marahare coached side can clinch the national title if they defeat Southern United.
Both teams have met in round one of the TSL competition which saw Henderson Eels defeated Southern United 10-0.
Marahare understands that the second round will be a lot different from the first and takes no team lightly.
Recently, he confidently told the media that Eels will win all remaining matches.
Meanwhile, defending champions Solomon Warriors maintains hope on defending the title.
However, this can only happen if Eels loses to Southern United tomorrow.
If Eels loses to City, the Warriors will have to defeat Honiara City in tomorrow’s second match and defeat Eels in their final match on Sunday.
