AN emergency diarrhoea awareness was conducted in the Busurata area within the highlands in Central Kwara’ae, Malaita province.
During the visitation to Busurata clinic, nurse in-charge Mrs Margaret Sonie said, they have recorded 21 cases and have treated them during the month of January 2016.
She said, no severe and death cases were reported.
Mrs Sonie added, the most group affected were children raging from 1- 9 years old. They also experience diarrhea plus vomitting.
She added through this kind of awareness it will help them take prevention measures to avoid unnecessary deaths.
She thanked the members of Solomon Island Red Cross (Auki Branch) for teaming up with the health promotion officers from the minisrty of health and medical services of Malaita province for doing the fine job to reach the rural people in the communities
It’s understood that similar emergency diarrhea outbreak awareness was also carried out along the Northern region and along the south road area in the province.
