AN outbreak of diarrhoea has been reported in Isabel province over the weekend.
Reports reaching this paper stated the outbreak is taking its toll in communities surrounding provincial capital Buala which causes panic to people.
A senior nurse in charge at Buala hospital said, both young children and adults are affected by the outbreak.
He said, number of patients being admitted at the hospital is rising.
“Many patients have been referred to us from rural clinic for further treatment at the hospital.”
He could not confirm any deaths related to the outbreak.
The officer said, while the hospital continues to receive patients, the hospital is also experiencing water shortage which really affected the patients being admitted.
The nurse said, the cause is unknown but they have adviced communities to boil drinking water, keep them warm, drink more water and cover foods from flies.
Meanwhile responsible health authorities have been urged to fix the water problem at the hospital.
