PEOPLE interested in watching dolphins play and swim in style will now be able to do so, thanks to Alistair Morris who initiated the establishment of Dolphin View Beach, a dolphin off shore water way along a reef line, just a short drive west of the capital Honiara.
Mr Morris said, the site is becoming popular with dolphin watchers interested in dolphins swimming in the open ocean instead of being locked in a cage or fenced area.
Mr Morris said, the attraction was built to preserve natural marine environment and avoid indiscriminate fishing activities in the area.
He said, just an hour’s drive west of the capital, Honiara, visitors and tourists would be able to watch dolphins swim and play in their natural environment, close to the open ocean.
He said, Dolphin View Beach resort is part of an eco-tourism development which includes bush treks to Vilu war memorial museum with its World War ll relics.
He said, the most suitable time for watching dolphin at Dolphin View Beach is from morning until 2 pm daily.
Mr Morris said for those interested in spending a night out, a one-room bungalow with a bar, kitchen and convenient facilities is available at the site.
Mr Morris said he condemned killing or mass slaughtering of dolphins by those engaged in such cruel habit.
