Dear Editor – I fully understand the great need and importance of paying school-fees in time in order to run the administration of the whole school academic finance year.
Whether be it is the national provincial secondary schools or primary and kindys. It is very crucial for better teaching and learning of all school children in our beloved Solomon islands so scattered and very remote.
The very thing about early childhood education (ECE) is that some families find it difficult to settle all school fees due to good and bad reasons that our innocent children became victims of the education system that is very costly.
What I’m trying to highlight is that these should not be threats and abuse on our school children rights of attending all classes as a direct results of non-payment of school fees.
School fees should be paid as long as family finances slowly improves.
Have a good look at the past colonial administration of the school system that all boys and girls attend free education on the expense of the British government.
When will the Solomon Islands government and churches make things easy for their own people especially the silent majority who continue to struggle all year around in school fees.
Please teachers don’t stop our school children from attending classes.
Of-course! School fees` is a matter for all parents and guardians to settle as long as cash is available in the family budget. It is not fair enough for our school children to miss classes and parents settle all outstanding school fees at later date.
