SOLOMON Islands young Futsal player Calvin Do’oro has started his journey to the Peoples Republic of China.
Do’oro was farewelled by the outgoing SIFF president William Lai, Dawn FC and family members prior to his departure yesterday at the Henderson International Airport.
He will spend a few days in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG) before continuing his journey to China to start his professional Futsal career with Xiangyu FC in the Chinese Super Futsal League.
Xiangyu FC plays in the Chinese Super League that consists of 12 clubs.
Do’oro will be playing professional Futsal in China following his recent signing with Chinese Futsal club Xiangyu FC.
According to the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF), this is a breakthrough in sports for Solomon Islands and China to see a Solomon Islander playing in China and a positive outcome for the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
Playing professional Futsal in China will benefit the player’s family, contribute to the country’s economy and a boost for Solomon Islands Futsal.
