Solomon Islands hockey squads has made a dull start to their campaigns at the Hockey Word League round one in Suva, Fiji in the day one of the competition.
According to Day one’s results our boys team went down to experienced Fiji 18-0 in their first match.
They also lost their second match to Tonga but with a narrow loss 2-1.
Our women’s team entered the competition as underdogs as this is their first time to attend international competition.
They also went down to the much experienced side Fiji national women’s side 18-0 in their first game but managed to registered their first win in their second game against Tonga with a 2-1 victory.
The Day 2 of the competition saw our men’s side registered their first win with a 3-1 victory over Tonga but later went down to Vanuatu 3-1 in their fourth match of the league.
Our women’s side also lose their two matches in the Day 2 of the competition.
They went down to PNG 2-1 and 9-1 to Fiji.
Matches will continue today with Day 4 actions.

Women’s Results: TGA – SOL 2 – 3; FIJ – PNG 5 – 0.
