SOLOMON Island young footballers, Raphael Lea’i and Leon Kofana have completed their trials with Melbourne Victory in Australia.
This was confirmed by the Oceania Football Centre.
The duo has been training with the Melbourne Victory U18 team in the first week and the U21 squad in the second week.
“BASI Futbol confirmed that Solomon Islands wonderkids Raphael Lea’i and Leon Kofana have completed their trials with Melbourne Victory in Australia.
“Lea’i is expected to return to Honiara due to personal reasons while Kofana is going to remain in Australia with relatives to continue with his personal training,” according to reports from the Oceania Football Centre.
There has been no confirmation of any outcome from the trials.
Both players are grateful for this opportunity and have done their best.
More importantly, they have experienced a whole new football environment, more professional in their organization.
Both players are currently playing for the Henderson Eels FC at the current OFC Champions League.
Eels are set to participate in the OFC Champions League quarter-finals.
