THE Malaita Eagles Under -16 soccer team have safely arrived in Honiara from Auki yesterday, to compete in the under 16 Solomon Cup.
The tournament is set to kick off tomorrow.
The team which comprises of students from schools in rural parts of the province have spent months of training and preparedness for the competition.
The team was selected from series of Under 16 tournaments that have been organised in the province.
Prior to their departure to Honiara yesterday, team coach Charles Irobina said he was satisfied with their preparation and that they are ready for the tournament.
Mr Irobina who is a former Malaita Eagles player and long-time Youth Football Coach said his Management have placed all their best to prepare the boys for the tournament.
The Malaita Under -16 team consist of students and Irobina said it has helped his coaching team a lot in trainings and discipline.
He believes the tournament will be a competitive experience for his side.
Just like how all Malaita Soccer teams approached their games, Irobina said they will treat all their games as finals.
