THE Minister of Police, National Security and Correctional Service, Stanley Sofu has donated roofing irons worth $70,000 to Aligegeo Provincial Secondary School in Malaita Province.
Aligegeo School Principal Javin Rukia told the Solomon Star that the East Kwaio MP donated the iron roofing to Aligegeo School as a gift from East Kwaio people.
Aligegeo School enrolls students from Malaita Outer Islands, South Malaita, Are’are, Kwara’ae, Fataleka, To’obaita, Lau, Langalanga and other provinces.
Mr Rukia thanked Mr Sofu for the kind donation.
“…your kind donation will go a long way and left a lasting memory in the education sector in Malaita Province,” he said.
He said the iron roofing will go towards the school chapel.
“We need to build God’s house before engaging in other buildings.
“We also need to complete our chapel so we as a school can worship together as a family of God,” Mr Rukia said.
The school principal then urged others to assist the school towards its chapel project.
“Aligegeo School Chapel Committee welcomes any love donations,” Mr Rukia said.
A handing over ceremony of the iron roofing from Mr Sofu to the school is yet to be confirmed.
