Work construction on the East Kwara’ae 13 kilometre feeder road that joins Atori main road to Aufasu (Kwaibaita) is now in its final completion phase.
Once completed communities of Kwaibaita and along it will ride in comfort and less time to the capital Auki.
A Trades Transformation Company (TTC) official said that construction work is now in its final stages and should be completed in a week’s time.
The 13 kilometre road is the only access road linking East Kwara’ae region with Malaita’s provincial capital Auki.
East Kwara’ae is one of the most populated regions located in the eastern part of Malaita.
Most of the people there engages in copra, cocoa, piggery and vegetable farming.
However for years their only set back is with poor road system to get their produce to the capital Auki or Honiara for market.
However, as the road is now in its completion phase, it would bring another smile on the face of east Kwara’ae people.
Those engage in small business (canteens) will now get their stocks or cargoes daily from the capital when road work is done.
The work carried out by TTC is being funded by the national government.
