FORMER Solomon Islands national Futsal player, James Egeta is grateful to finally rejoin the Kurukuru team.
Egeta was one of the four new inclusions in Kurukuru Coach Damon Shaw’s final list for the Vietnam tour.
Egeta said despite staying out of the squad for the past years, he always felt part of the Kurukuru team.
“It’s a different feeling especially when you are representing your country.
“I am excited and at the same remain focused as I have a responsibility to do with the team.
“The Kurukuru team is part of my life and is always part of me.
“Rejoining the team is something I always look forward to and now the opportunity is here,” Egeta told Star Sports.
Egeta also praised the young new Kurukuru players, describing their inclusion as vital for Solomon Islands Futsal’s future.
“The team consist of young and old boys which is very important for the future of this sport in our country.
“It’s my first day training with the team these young boys are very good.
“It’s good to have them in the team because they are the ones to carry the team when we hang our boots,” Egeta added.
The Kurukuru team will play their first international friendly match against Vietnam national Futsal team tomorrow, Thursday May 25th in Ho Chi Mihn City.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 9pm.
