Dear Editor – Its interesting to read in the news about the impact of El Nino that is going to affect the region.
Solomon Islands is no exception with the dry spell now affecting many communities.
There are already reports from communities about their water running low.
In the city, there is also lack of rain. We have more fine weather and increase humidity due to the scorching sun.
There have been calls and appeals being made to government to step in a assess some of the situations affecting communities.
This week, the region had been warned to brace for the worst.
Therefore, its important for communities, families and everyone to be prepared.
Government must also be prepared to assist where possible if the situation gets worse in some of our communities.
Lets hope and pray that we can enjoy some rain soon.
