A MURDER suspect was arrested this week following a 13-year police investigation. This was in relation to a murder incident at Dudula village in the Tasimboko area of East Guadalcanal in 2001.
Guadalcanal police arrested the male suspect who was in his 40’s at the Guadalcanal Provincial headquarters at Kukum.
Acting police commissioner Juanita Matanga told the media yesterday the suspect is now held in custody awaiting his court appearance.
Ms Matanga praised her officers for a job well done to finally arrest the suspect who has been out there in the community for 13 years.
She urged other offenders who are still at large to voluntarily hand themselves in to police to allow the law to justify their innocence.
“I call on anyone out there who is trying to avoid police for crimes they are suspected of committing to voluntarily hand themselves in.
“Our laws will remain and one day, police will catch you too. So it is good that you give yourselves in to solve the problem according to our justice system,” Ms Matanga said.
