Miss Mokolo Enterprise’s Deanne Enoch has been crowned Miss Solomon Islands 2015 -2016.
She took the Miss Solomon crown after winning the 2015 Pageant Show on Saturday night.
“I am so happy and humbled to be the winner,” she told the Solomon Star after her victory.
“This surely pays of the many hard works and struggles; especially to those who have rendered generous support towards me contesting in the 2015 Miss Solomon Islands Pageant Show.”
She dedicated her win to her mother.
Miss Enoch said, whilst there are many women issues out there, she looks forward to the challenges that lie ahead.
“There are no specific thoughts yet, but I will definitely be looking at empowering women in all necessary areas women involve.”
Outgoing Miss Solomon Islands 2013, Tema Wickham congratulated Miss Enoch and applauded all contestants for the brave and confidence, taking part in the pageant show.
“I must applaud you all for your courage and confidence; in making use of this opportunity as there are many others who wish to, but are unfortunate.
“To our newly crowned Miss Solomon Islands, take pride on being crowned and move forward beyond all means on representing the country in any events.”
She concluded urging the government, private sector and individuals to render full support behind reigning 2015 Miss Solomon Islands.
“Provide whatever support you may in making sure she performs to what we expect of her, on the many pressing women issues and especially towards her preparations for the 2015 Pacific Pageant Show in Cook Islands in December.”
Miss Mokolo Enterprise’s Deena Enoch came out the winner with two other wards on Best Sarong and best talent.
First runners-up was Miss Red Mansion, Lovinda Reggie whom also awarded the best traditional and contemporary.
Second runner-up is Miss World Link Resources, Amanda Tepo followed by another Miss World Link Resources sponsored as third runners-up, Beverly Mawhinney.
Fourth runner-up is awarded to Miss Honiara City Council, Theresa Rokaia. She was also awarded the 2015 Miss Solomon Pageant show personality award.
Best float award was awarded to Miss Honiara Hotel, Lorah George while the best photogenic award was won by Miss Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF), Gladish Sade.
