Dear Editor – In Melanesia, women are often regarded as inferior to men.
But according to the moral law, men and women are always equal in the eyes of God.
In the Book of Genesis, the first man God made was Adam.
He then put Adam into a deep sleep and took one of his ribs and formed a woman, a living being like Adam himself.
Therefore man and woman are always equal because they are all made in the image of God. As such, men should not treat women as an object, but an equal partner.
Man and woman should recreate and work together in God’s creation. And build this world a better place to live.
