The recent reconciliation between the Ex-Malaita Eagle Force (MEF) member Moses Su’u and Prime Minister (PM) Manasseh Sogavare did not go down well with Malaita-based Ex-MEF members.
Information reaching Solomon Star Auki claimed Malaita based Ex-MEF members viewed the reconciliation as a strategic move to cover up the truth that Mr. Su’u had exposed in a circulated video clip on social media and Prime Minister’s need for backup following pressure from the recent petition.
Sources told Solomon Star Auki that the information of an alleged assassination plot that Mr. Su’u had exposed in a circulated video via the social media is a well-known story amongst Ex-MEF members.
“When Mr. Su’u came out and exposed the information in public we are all proud of him for exposing the truth.
“However, when we learnt that he has recently reconciled with the Prime Minister, we knew that they are trying to cover up the truth that has already been exposed,” the source said
The source said the reconciliation is not only a cover up about what Mr. Su’u had exposed, but for backup support in the light of the petition pressure demanding the PM to step down.
“Following the reconciliation, Su’u and his followers are now supporting the PM should things get out of hand following the petition asking for him to step down.
“Pressure from the petition is real, and if things get out of control, Su’u and his boys will back DCGA,” the source claimed.
The source added that reconciliation is a good thing, but the recent reconciliation between Mr. Su’u and PM is meaningless as it only casts a shadow on the truth.
