WHAT was supposed to be a delicious dinner for a family in Honiara was spoilt when all members of the family got stomach ache and diarrhoea.
A father, James Joseph, told Solomon Starr that they all got sick after eating coconut fish stew or “soup fish” from tuna fish they bought from fish vendors in Honiara.
Mr Joseph said ‘soup fish’ is one of the family’s favourite dishes and that that evening members of his extended family were also having dinner with them.
He said as soon as they finished dinner, everyone started having a stomach ache and began frequenting the rest room.
Mr Joseph, who is a registered nurse at the National Referral Hospital, said it was lucky he is a registered nurse and was able to treat his family members at home.
He said many of them only recovered on Sunday.
He called on the fish market vendors in Honiara to sell fresh tuna at the markets.
