A FAMILY of four accused of stealing valuable properties and goods from shops and business houses in East Honiara during the recent unrest will face the court again on January 5.
The mother, father and their two sons aged 21 and 17 are all facing four counts each of simple larceny.
Police arrested them on December 5, after recovering the stolen properties which the family hid inside a chicken house beside their dwelling house at Abira, Panatina in East Honiara.
The father and the two sons were remanded in custody while the mother was released on bail on reason she is breastfeeding her baby.
The juvenile was later released from custody last Friday on a cash bail of $500 while the father and the other son were each released on cash bail of $1,000 yesterday.
Prosecution alleged they stole the properties between November 24 and November 26 from Low Price Enterprise shop, Bishop Brothers, Island Enterprise and Power Products at Ranadi.
The stolen properties includes Stihl products and tools, boots and shoes, cartoon of cigarettes, bags of rice and other goods.
All accused are yet to take their pleas.
Its understood more people who are involved during last month’s rioting, looting and burning will be arrested and charged as investigation continues.
